The acid cleaning of the 1050MW generator unit boiler in Ezhou Power Plant has been completed and received high praise from all parties

Our company has successfully completed the acid washing project for the No. 5 boiler of the 2 × 1050MW ultra supercritical coal-fired unit in the third phase of Hubei Energy Group Ezhou Power Plant, and has received high praise from the owner, general contractor, power construction, supervision, commissioning and other parties.

Boiler acid cleaning is one of the most important nodes in the construction of thermal power generation units, which directly affects the next step of boiler pipe blowing and the start-up and commissioning of the entire unit. During the bidding process for boiler acid cleaning of Unit 5 in the third phase of Ezhou Power Plant, the subcontractor of this project, Hubei Electric Power Construction Second Company, considered that this unit is one of the largest thermal power generation units in China and requires the most technically strong boiler acid cleaning unit. After multiple investigations and screening, we have finally decided that Scientific Green(shandong) Environmental Technology Co.Ltd. will complete this important task.

After receiving the winning bid notification from Hubei Electric Power Construction Second Company, our company immediately established the acid washing project department and appointed Liu Guanghua, who has two million unit construction experiences in the engineering center, as the project construction manager, Wang Yuncong, the chief engineer of the technical department, as the project technical leader, and Kong Qingguo, the boiler department of the cleaning project center, as the project manager.

On March 10, 2018, all personnel of the project department arrived at the site to connect the temporary pipeline for acid washing of the alkali washed boiler in front of the furnace. The alkali washing work in front of the furnace began on April 18. The alkali washing process in front of the furnace needs to be operated through the DCS system in the unit control room, and the entire process is completed by our company's project leader Wang Yuncong. He is familiar with the DOS operation in the control room, which has impressed all participating units. The alkali washing work in front of the furnace will be completed on April 20th.

This boiler acid washing adopts EDTA acid washing process, which has the advantages of short acid washing time, minimal corrosion to the boiler, and low waste liquid volume. Before the start of acid washing, the company dispatched Mr. Tian Minliang from the Equipment Department to the site to debug and test operate the acid washing pump station and equipment, and to track and maintain the work throughout the process. On May 1st, the boiler acid washing work officially began. The owner, general contractor, supervisor, commissioning unit, and power construction company tracked and supervised the entire process. In just 6 hours, the 600m3 acid washing solution system was heated up to meet the acid washing temperature requirements. The entire process is tested every half hour, and the total duration is 12 hours.

After the acid washing is completed, the owner, the general contractor, the supervisor, the commissioning unit, and the power construction company jointly supervise the weighing and measurement of the corrosion indicators, and cut three sections of the water-cooled wall pipe with low flow rate for inspection and testing. All indicators are excellent, and the surface of the sample pipe is clean without residue, forming a complete and dense passivation film. For this result, as well as the technical strength, construction organization ability, and employee spirit demonstrated by our company during the project process, all participating units have given high praise. Mr. Liu, a well-known acid pickling expert in China, specifically praised us. The Ezhou Power Plant Phase III Project Department of China Power Construction Hubei Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. sent me a letter of commendation.
