The industrial development is moving from the survival stage to the ecological stage. Xu Dingming, former director of the National Energy Administration, pointed out that the next 10 years will be a crucial decade for the transformation of new and old driving forces in the world economy. As for the petroleum industry, we need to be fully prepared to move towards the post oil era. In the post oil era, we need to address high and extremely high oil prices from various fields, and vigorously encourage and support the development of new and renewable energy, as well as the development of oil substitute products. Fu Xiangsheng, Vice President of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, delivered a keynote speech on "High Quality Development of the Petroleum and Chemical Industry". Regarding the China US trade war, Fu Xiangsheng believes that its recent impact on China's petrochemical industry is not significant and its direct impact is not significant. Gu Zongqin, President of the Petroleum and Chemical Industry Planning Institute, delivered a keynote speech on "Key Analysis of the Development of China's Petrochemical and Chemical Industry". Qu Yansong, Deputy Chief Economist of Sinopec Economic and Technological Research Institute, stated that from the perspective of raw materials, in 2017, the domestic coal/methanol to olefin ethylene production capacity share had reached about 23%, greatly changing the domestic ethylene industry pattern. However, due to the current pressure on coal chemical projects in various provinces and cities in China, it is expected that project construction will slow down. Song Wenbo, Director of the New Product Development Institute at Sinopec Beijing Chemical Research Institute, pointed out that the differentiation and high performance of polyolefin resins in China are significant. Typical examples include: automotive polypropylene resin, transparent impact polypropylene, soft polypropylene, high melt strength polypropylene, propylene butadiene copolymer, biaxially oriented and cast polyethylene, high melt injection molding LLDPE PE100-RC。 Zhang Songchen, Project Director of the Consulting Division of China Chemical Information Center, pointed out that in 2017, the production of environmentally friendly coatings in China reached 10 million tons, of which water-based coatings were the main variety, accounting for 75%.
