Creating environmentally friendly characteristic industries to support the construction of a strong manufacturing city in Jining

On the afternoon of January 6, 2023, Lin Hongyu, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, participated in the discussion of the Science and Technology Association Joint Group of the 14th Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Chairman Tian Mingge stated that our city is located in the core area of the East Route of the South to North Water Diversion Project and the urban area of the "26+2" corridor. The manufacturing industry faces significant environmental pressure and requires the support of the environmental protection industry to achieve green, low-carbon, and high-quality development. Four suggestions are proposed: firstly, identify the positioning and formulate a long-term development plan for the environmental protection industry. Seize the opportunity to support the development of the environmental protection industry in our province and actively strive to position our city as a key supporting prefecture level city and the main carrier of the industry for the development of the environmental protection industry in our province. The second is to improve the layout and create a new pattern of coordinated development of the environmental protection industry. Suggest making the Economic Development Zone the main carrier of Jining's environmental protection industry, forming a development pattern of environmental protection industry led by the Economic Development Zone and supplemented by other parks. The third is to strengthen cultivation and leverage the leading effect of enterprise clustering in key industries. Establish a special fund for the development of environmental protection industry, guide and support environmental protection enterprises to enter the capital market, and support the rapid growth and strengthening of environmental protection enterprises in our city. The fourth is to cultivate talents and gather wisdom, strengthen the construction of industry talent teams, and provide a continuous supply of talent support for the improvement of Jining's ecological environment and the development of environmental protection industries.

After carefully listening to the speech, Secretary Lin Hongyu said that the speech made by Member Tian Mingge is closely related to the government's main task in 2023, which is to focus on building a strong manufacturing city and achieve new breakthroughs in green, low-carbon, and high-quality development. A very insightful suggestion has been put forward for the development of the environmental protection industry in Jining City. The Municipal Party Committee and Government will carefully study and fully absorb everyone's opinions and suggestions, and better promote the city's scientific and technological innovation and industrial development work.

Secretary Lin Hongyu requested to strengthen the dominant position of enterprises in scientific and technological innovation. The municipal party committee and government attach great importance to scientific and technological innovation, introduce policies, provide real financial support to enterprises to carry out scientific and technological research and development, and accelerate the promotion of enterprises to overcome a number of key core technologies in key areas of advantageous industries. Enterprises should fully recognize the development situation, seize policy opportunities, give full play to the main role of scientific and technological innovation, and lead the high-quality development of enterprises with high-quality scientific and technological innovation.

Secretary Lin Hongyu also emphasized the hope that members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in the Association for Science and Technology will fully implement various scientific and technological innovation tasks, actively focus on serving the overall situation, continuously improve their performance ability and level, and promote Jining to embark on the path of innovative development, making scientific and technological innovation the "key variable" and the "maximum increment" of Jining's high-quality development, contributing to the construction of a socialist modernized strong city in the new era.
